BLENDED/PROJECT-BASED LEARNING

After our openings have been filled, students will be put on a waitlist. 


Students have the opportunity to join in person or virtually for this optional enrichment opportunity!

As a result of the passage of the recent ballot measure 3A, we are looking forward to our future "Innovation Center"! We broke ground this May! Academy School District 20 Administration will continue to inform and update about the status of the projects. Please visit our bond information site regarding next steps and project progress.

​The Learning Lab is housed in a modular classroom on the

Academy Endeavor Elementary Campus

3475 Hampton Park Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80920


Learning Lab Schedule :   

Monday: K/1st grades- half day experience/week

Monday: 2nd/3rd grades- half- day experience/week

Note: Monday students should plan to eat lunch outside of the Learning Lab before or after they attend their sessions. However, they should bring plenty of water. 

     

Wednesday: 4th/5th   grades- 1 full day experience/week

Tuesday and Thursday: 6th/7th/8th grades- 2 full day experiences/week

Note: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday students should plan to eat lunch at the Learning Lab. They should also bring plenty of water, snacks, and any classwork they would like to work on during the morning period.


For our students attending virtually:

A virtual classroom link will be provided for you after you sign up for the Blended Learning option.


All students should be prepared for outdoor activities and recess by dressing accordingly.



 

Students will experience...

  • Face-to-face time with their teacher

  • Time to receive intervention or additional support

  • Time to collaborate and complete schoolwork/group projects with classmates

  • Project-based Learning Experiences (ex. STEM and other engaging experiences)

  • BYOD (Bring Your Own Device); laptops will be available for use in our lab as well

  • Take a concept in a unit currently learning and go deeper

  • Community Partnerships and Guest Speakers

  • Engage in RULER, our Social-Emotional Curriculum to help students recognize, understand, label, appropriately express and regulate emotions

  • Student control over time, place, path, and pace
